Miss Clara by Nobis are now seeking artists for the fifth edition of The Art of Being a Woman. In conjunction with International Women's Day on March 8, Miss Clara invites female artists from across the country to participate in an open exhibition. Anyone who identifies as a woman can apply to exhibit, regardless of age, amateur or professional status.
The exhibition will be held at Miss Clara by Nobis, starting from March 8, and will run for a month. All works will be available for purchase. During the month of March, Miss Clara will also be donating 20% of the revenue from the accommodation package "Kvinna till Kvinna," as well as a portion of the proceeds from selected dishes at Restaurant Ateneum, to the charity organization Kvinna till Kvinna. The organization works towards a world free from men's violence against women, and with 100 partner organizations on-site in 20 countries, Kvinna till Kvinna is one of the world's leading women's rights organizations.
The building that currently houses Miss Clara by Nobis was originally built as the Ateneum girls' school in 1910. We have taken our name from the school's beloved, progressive, and radical headmistress, Clara Strömberg. With the exhibition The Art of Being a Woman, we aim to create an open space featuring works by women, allowing each to tell her story through art.

The outer and inner labia are both strongly erogenous zones. The outer labia, the labia majora, are made up of fatty tissue, smooth muscle and corpus callosum tissue. Their function is to protect the inner labia and vagina against abrasion and impact. The outer labia are rich in nerve endings and sweat and sebaceous glands. During sexual arousal, they fill with blood, darken, swell and become more sensitive to sexual touch.

Swedish ceramic artist and designer Malwina Kleparska (born 1990) works primarily in stoneware clay. Her process-driven approach utilises traditional hand-building techniques, such as coiling and pinching, to seamlessly merge functionality and sculpture. Kleparska is particularly fascinated by the negative form – the hole – a frequently recurring element in her designs.

My painting depicts a woman grasping her body with confidence and strength. It reflects the double standards women face – we are told to love ourselves, but not too much, to be natural yet perfect. The work challenges these norms and celebrates a body that is unapologetically its own.
I was born in 1991 and work as an artist and illustrator in Malmö. When I paint, I try to find an inner calm that I hope is reflected in the finished work. At the same time, I welcome a sense of ambivalence – I want my paintings to ask questions rather than provide clear answers.

This artwork was created when I was studying visual culture at Högskolan i Gävle where concepts like "framed" and the "male gaze" appeared in literature. It's about how we women in advertising and social media are often cropped and framed to limit and please the male gaze. The painting is created in oil on canvas and consists of two canvases.
I usually choose oil painting as my means of expression where the person is in focus and more specifically the person's emotional state. I live in Gävle and I have had separate and group exhibitions and participated in juried exhibitions. I have studied art both practically and theoretically since 2002.

Aserte Kilte is an Eritrean traditional ceremony that became significant after many children died within the first week after birth. In response to this, the elders declared that newborns should stay indoors for the first 12 days to avoid the "evil eye" and be protected. On the 12th day, the mother is required to walk over fire with the newborn in her arms, and the child’s forehead and inner eyelids are adorned with kohl, celebrated together with all the women in the family.
Bethelehem Asgodom, 23 years old, was born in Eritrea but grew up south of Stockholm. An amateur photographer who focuses primarily on capturing human interactions and love.
